Series are an integral part of viewers’ everyday life. Three-quarters of Germans watch at least one series on a regular basis, either on TV or online. Especially younger target groups are drawn to series. The most popular series providers are RTL, ARD, and ProSieben.

It is furthermore remarkable that two VoD-only channels, Amazon and Netflix, are among the top ten. These are the results of a recent survey conducted by the research and consultancy group Goldmedia (www.Goldmedia.com). Adult citizens were questioned on the subject of series in June 2015 (n= 1.128).
