Quality of news agency reporting
In the highly competitive German news agency market, one of the leading agencies commissioned Goldmedia with a qualitative analysis. In order to analyse the reports of the two leading news agencies, a sample week was determined. When selecting different news departments, attention was paid that only comparable topics were analysed (politics, economy, miscellaneous, sports, culture).
The statistical population was formed by all reports published within the sample week, a total of 8500 news from both agencies. The reports were analysed, applying criteria such as quantity and diversity, integration of multimedia-content, readability and intelligibility, geographical reference and exclusivity.
