The study was commissioned by the Bavarian Regulatory Authority for Commercial Broadcasting (BLM) and carried out by strategy consultant Goldmedia has found that location-based services in Germany are providing a wide variety of offers, have an increasing user base and are also likely to experience high rates of growth.

The study classifies the different services and provides for the first time relevant market information on the use, on business models, advertising and development potentials of location-based services in Germany.

The study was based on an online survey of all German location-based service providers as well as on a survey of 1000 smartphone users.
