Media Consumption in the FutureProf. Dr. Klaus Goldhammer, Jan Schlüter (September 2015)
The rapid change in media consumption is evident: the expansion of technological capacity and the related convergence of media lead to a blurring of lines between the usage of radio and internet as well as linear TV and on-demand services. At the same time the possibilities to use different services simultaneously are increasing.
New channels of distribution and platforms as well as a wide range of mobile and stationary devices make this new form of media consumption possible. Many users, among them especially younger ones, readily make use of these new offers. Frequently, however, regulations are behind the times and do not represent the new situation adequately.
The Association of German Cable Operators (ANGA) commissioned Goldmedia to gather current trends in media consumption and to analyse their impact on and significance for cable operators.
