On behalf of the high-tech association BITKOM, Goldmedia asked Internet users about their habits when using devices from the consumer electronics sector. The results: 77 percent of Internet users surf on their laptops, smartphones, etc. while watching television.

Increasingly, television and the Internet are used in parallel. Where viewers used to simply channel hop, today they are also able to hop online.

From the BITKOM press release (10. July 2012) It is increasingly common for people surf on their laptop while the TV is on. Every second Internet user (51 percent) uses a mobile computer for this purpose. Also popular are desktop PCs (35 percent) and smartphones (21 percent).
