Goldmedia Custom Research offers a new forecast model for TV audience ratings

Using modern research methods, audience ratings for TV programs and movies are predictable. Goldmedia has developed a forecast model that can be used to make a qualified prediction on the success of a film project in Germany in terms of the number of viewers. 

It has already been tested extensively. One example is the television premiere of the film “Das total verrückte Wochenende” (“The totally crazy weekend”) on the German station Sat. 1.

Goldmedia predicted that the viewer market share would be 12.8 percent (for the age group between 14-49 years), which was only one percent away from the actual number released after the premier by GfK.

About the method:
Using data on films that have already been released, we identify patterns. In order to create a forecast on success potential, the planned film project is compared to the patterns identified.
