Evaluating the online services of public service broadcasters

Within the framework of the "three-step test" conducted by the public broadcaster committees, Goldmedia carried out a variety of economic market assessments.

As part of EU state aid law, new public online services can only be accepted if the positive impact on consumer welfare significantly outweighs the negative impact on commercial competition.

The research was focused on the question of  the journalistic and economic impact of the public online services on private competition in Germany.

Goldmedia used  various instruments of research, market research as well as empirical research, including conjoint analysis.

The research was conducted for verious organizations: Bayerischer Rundfunk, Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk, Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg, Südwestrundfunk, Westdeutscher Rundfunk, ZDF and others.
